NCET History

1999 - Community and business leaders, along with EDAWN, the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, create the TechAlliance, an organization that promotes entrepreneurship and technology commercialization throughout Northern Nevada.

2003 - The TechAlliance joins forces with NCED, the Nevada Commission on Economic Development, to create Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, a new state-wide organization charged with encouraging and empowering entrepreneurs and fostering an environment in which high-growth entrepreneurial companies could succeed and flourish.

2007, NCET is spun-off as a independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

2011 - With the loss of Federal funding, NCET becomes an all-volunteer organization.
About NCET

Our Mission:  NCET helps Nevadans start and grow their businesses through educational programs and by connecting them to the resources they need to succeed.

NCET is an independent award-winning 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization funded by public contributions, sponsorships, program revenues and limited grants. NCET is note affiliated with the State of Nevada and receives no state or Federal funding.

Counseling and Business Resources 

Instead of providing individual counseling to entrepreneurs and small businesses, NCET serves as a clearinghouse for the many public sector programs and private sector resources that provide free or low-cost services to people starting or growing a business.

Business Funding

NCET does not provide funding for businesses, and instead has developed a list of Nevada funding sources who provide equity funding for companies seeking funding.  Small businesses needing loans should contact your local US Small Business Administration office or the Nevada Microenterprise Initiative.
